Goodbye Simon

Our time with Simon Wiesenthal has come to an end. The Nazi war criminal chaser passed away yesterday. For those of you who wish to know more about this man, please read this story on CNN. I only wish to add that if any of you happen to be in LA, the Simon Wiesenthal Center and Museum of Tolerance is an incredible experience. I certainly didn't have an appreciation for the horrors of the holocaust till I visited this museum, and in my opinion, it's an absolute must-see. I noticed on the Simon Wiesenthal Center website that they have also opened a Tolerance museum in NY, so you may want to include it on your next trip to Yankeeland.

Karthik,
I am glad that you identify with those who suffer especially those who suffered on a mass scale like the Jews. How about writing about Pandits of Kashmir numbering 300,000 who have been terrorised and driven out of their homeland.. they are Refugees in their own country! BTW, Francois Gautier's FACT exhibition is touring US highlighting this tragedy educating the world and Indians about it. Google about it and please visit if it comes to a city near you. FACT is Foundation against Continuing Terrorism.

Well, the reality is terrorism is implemented by both states and individual groups. While it is true that Kashmiri pandits have suffered, I would argue that it is not disproprionate to the suffering of Kashmiri Muslims, who have been trapped between Delhi's games and militant groups. (For an incredible unbiased view of how Delhi screwed Kashmir, read Tavleen Singh's 'A Tragedy of Errors', which includes a shocking revelation of not only political arrogance but war crimes by Delhi!) Our first step in solving the Pundit crisis is to learn lessons in federalism and autonomy, and having an unbiased media probably helps.

It's NOT disproprionate? Do you have facts? Let me begin with this.. Do you have 300000 Kashmiri muslims driven out of Kashmir?

Yes, Indian govt.s have bungled repeatedly but saying what you said is being politically correct sacrifising truth. I request you to read Aravind Lavarkare's articles on Rediff and this one if you can =>
